James (Jim) Urban Pearn (January 29, 1921 - November 15, 2014) had a passion for collecting antique cars and service station memorabillia. His collection grew over the years and in 2004 he and his wife, Vivienne donated the $1 million collection to the Municipality of Headingley. With the building constructed thanks to Reeve Wilf Taillieu and Dr. John Bock, 27 trailer loads were put inside Jim's Vintage Garages Heritage Museum for all the public to enjoy.
